Passing the Parameters


If you want to pass the parameter for criteria which you have specified in the Selection formula during run time you can do so by passing the parameters during the running of the application.
For example if you want to select any mark as criteria during run time that is you want to display all the students who have scored above 97 or next time if you want to display all the students who have scored above 95 etc. You can select it from the list which you have created.
  1. Right Click on the Parameter Fields from Field Explorer and Click on to New and you will get the screen as shown Fig. 33.

  2. Enter the Name, Prompting Text and Value type as shown in the Fig. 34.

  3. Click on to Default Values to select the list of values to be displayed for the user to select. You will get the screen as shown Fig. 35.

  4. Now Select Table, Field and Values as shown in the Screen in Fig. 36 and Fig. 37.


  5. Click on to OK and you will get a screen as shown Fig. 38.

  6. Now click on to OK and you are back at the Report window. Now right click on the blank area of Report you will get the screen as shown in Fig. 39.

  7. Click on to Selection Formula, then Report and you will get the screen as shown in Fig. 40.

  8. Double click on to Command.Marks as you want to display the report according to a specific mark. You will get a screen as shown in Fig.41.

  9. Now double click on to the Marks parameter. You will get new formula as {command.Marks}= {?Marks} ( = sign is given by you and you can give any operator).
  10. Save and Close and run the application, you will get a screen as shown Fig. 42. Now select the Marks according to which you want to display the report.

  11. Then Click on to Finish and you will get the resultant report as shown in the Fig. 43.
